XM/Sirius to announce Merger today?

If it's about broadcasting, radio, TV, satellite, cable, this is where to talk about it.

This is becoming less and less of an issue. You pay for (legal) music downloads. You pay for internet service, and radio via broadband connection ain't cheap -- at least when compared to dial-up. You pay for cable television or satellite TV and don't bat an eye. Satellite radio is next.

WASHINGTON, March 6 — Kevin J. Martin, the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, has privately questioned recent Congressional testimony by the architect of a proposed merger of the nation’s two satellite radio companies that subscribers would both pay the same monthly rate and receive significantly more programming.

I think the merger would be great. The FCC should approve it and then shut-down the authority to operate all of the XM/SIRIUS terresital repeaters.

Let the SATELLITE RADIO companies merge and deliver SATELLITE RADIO via SATELLITE.

Go for it.

Absolutely.

And while we're on a self-cleansing roll, let's revoke every FM Translator license from 88.1 to 107.9.

If you can't cover it from your main stick, then you can't cover it at all.
