U.S. Marshals tracked Jacob Nathan Larese, also known as Josh MacIntire, across the country and finally caught him in Washington D.C. over the weekend. He's accused of stealing identities and falsely claiming he worked for media outlets, including WSAZ.

Police say he went on an extensive crime spree since he left our region in December -- that was immediately after he was profiled on WSAZ's Charleston's Most Wanted.

U.S. Marshals say Larese was being tracked by the CUFFED task force, and inter-agency organization that includes the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department, U.S. Marshals, and other local law enforcement agencies.

According to the U.S. Marshal's office in Charleston, Larese fled to one state after another, all while staying one step ahead of investigators. They say he went to Chicago, Boston, Vermont, New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and finally to Washington D.C. where he was caught Friday evening.

Investigators tell us they received a tip on Larese after someone searched his name on the internet and it took the person to WSAZ's most wanted page. The tipster said Larese was traveling from Pittsburgh to D.C. via train.

When Larese arrived in Washington D.C., U.S. Marshals took him in to custody.

During his multi-state crime spree, U.S. Marshals say he stole and used the identities of several people, claimed he worked for NBC, and spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on cars and other merchandise.

Charges are still pending for the alleged crime spree, but police say there are at least a half dozen victims affected by Larese's actions.

Larese is currently being held in a jail in Washington D.C. Pending an extradition hearing, he'll be brought back to West Virginia on the original charges out of Kanawha County.

Here's the original story posted on WSAZ.com:

It's a case that hits close to home for us at WSAZ. Detectives say a man claimed he worked here at the station--and made several other false claims three different times in order to get a bank loan. Now, he's on the run.

The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department has named Jacob Nathan Larese one of Charleston's Most Wanted.

He also goes by the aliases: Josh McIntyre (also spelled "MacIntire") and Adam Williamson. Larese is accused of not showing up for court earlier this month.

Police say Larese took out a bank loan at the First Bank of Charleston for $15,000, but gave the bank false information. The police report says he gave this false information:

* He worked at DiTrapano & Associates.
* He had an $800,000 trust fund at Huntington Bank.
* Advised his primary residence was worth $112,000.
* He owned a 2005 Mercedes worth $38,000.
* He owned a 2000 Mazda Miata worth $13,000.

In the police report, the president of the First Bank of Charleston said all of these claims are fictitious. He also said Larese's account was overdrawn two weeks after the last loan was given.

The police report says Larese was arrested when he showed up at the bank for a fourth loan. The bank had been in contact with police.

Jacob Nathan Larese is 26 years old. His last known address is on Big Tyler Road in Cross Lanes, but deputies believe he may have moved. Larese most recently worked as a reporter at a Charleston radio station.

Call the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department at (304) 357-0169 if you have any information about him.

NOTE: Jacob Larese never worked at WSAZ.

NEW INFORMATION (12/28): Deputies say they've received a lot of viewer tips. They now believe Larese is in the Huntington--and driving a white 2007 Dodge Charger. Police say it's a rental car that was supposed to be turned in at least a week ago.

I couldn't help but laugh at his resume that said he worked at KDKA-AM Pittsburgh... He was the anchor for "The Nooner Newscast." They have a hour long newscast at noon, but its called "The Total Newshour"

Because of the way the WVRJA website operates, you will have to download the picture and then host it on some site. Then use that site as a call from this board to get a picture on here. I don't seem to be able to do it, but that is the way I think it is done.

Jacob Larese (Josh McIntyre) never worked @ WSAZ. He told people he did, but it was totally fabricated.
