Jeff Whitehead, mainstay and morning guy (with Al Woody) at Bristol Broadcastings WQBE radio was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident on Red House Hill near Winfield WV yesterday. He has serious injuries to the lower half of his body and is in surgery right now.

Oh my God. Here's a bushel of my thoughts, Jeff.

One upside to this, is that he's got the Big Man on his side.

I know Al well but have never met Jeff. On second thought I may have met him at the WVBA's a few weeks ago but, well, open bar....you know?

Anyway we are a small fraternity in broadcasting especially here in West By God, so when something like this happens you feel for the guy whether you know him or not.

Take care, brother.

I was in Charleston visiting the folks over the weekend and saw the story on WVAH and WCHS. It was the third story, and very well done. WVAH had plenty of stock footage of Jeff and AL and went in to great detail about Jeff's long and successful career. I've known Jeff for ten years, and worked for him for a few of those. He has a very hard head (that's probably what saved him), but at the end of the day, he is a total pro that almost always wins.

Get well buddy.

Jeffro, I'm sure Jeri will see to it that you get the Guiness nod for the shortest motorcycle ownership in history. Keep the faith, bro.
Yes I'm serious. And stop calling me Shirley.

Latest reports indicate that Jeff is doing well and is expected to recover fully. At his and my age... that's a little harder to do than it sounds, but I'm sure he will give it his best. Thank God he was in really good physical condition to start with.
