Rupert Murdoch "Gets" New Media
At some point, you have to stop and wonder how and why Rupert Murdoch is the only media mogul who "gets" new media. And what's even more mind-boggling is that he seems to understand it better than most experts.

It's because Murdoch has consistently been the smartest guy in the publishing room for some time. That's why the opinions of his newspapers turn on a dime when public opinion changes and why he has the most conservative news channel, but the most liberal network. He can smell money from a mile away. Or, since he's Australian, from 1.6k away.
So sayeth His Royal Highness King Spike; greatest broadcasting talent of his generation.

I've always found him to be quite competent when it comes to the 5000 foot view. His ground-level observations can be off the mark though.

Funny stuff. Lisa Simpson points that out on episode 400.
