Artists and labels seek royalties from radio

If it's about broadcasting, radio, TV, satellite, cable, this is where to talk about it.

Found the answer to my own question.

BMI and ASCAP cover the composer... not the performer (unless, by chance, they are one in the same). So this won't affect Paul McCartney... but Britney Spears is getting the shaft. 8)

Let the "Artists" go for it! Then we'll only play songs sang by their writers. Not a bad idea. Not bad at all. Naw....let's just all go talk only!

Better still....lets just play Mexican music! We can swap the royalties for illegals we hire at the station! Brilliant!! (and politically correct too)

Don't forget the 'Pickers and Grinners', they'll wanna cut too.

That's a damn good idea. It'll kill CHR, Country, and AC. In fact, the only things that will be left are Rock, Talk, and a few Rhythmic stations.
