1. Laptop
2. Water Bottle
3. Plenty of Camel Lights

Am I the only smoker here? There was a day when everybody in radio would puff like crazy (see WKLC staff).

I quit. I am now 8 weeks without a cigarette. Now, I have this ridiculous habit of sticking these sticky patches on my arm. :o

do the math and tell me how much 8 weeks of patches cost compared to 8 weeks of smokes.

i quit last july using nicorette (the walmart generic mint flavored ones. $50 got you 200 or 250 of them) i chewed 5-6 pieces a day for a couple months, then down to 3-4/day for a couple weeks, then 1-2/day for a couple months and now i have about 2 pieces a month. compared to at least a pack sometimes a pack and a half a day... the nicorette never cost more than the smokes even when i first started.

It will be TEN years this September that I quit smoking using the patch....I also lost 70 pounds over that 10 years as well....but I did pick up a sweet tooth habit because I would crave a cig after I ate, now I crave something sweet.....

Good for you Zak!! I'm trying really hard, but no luck so far. It helps that they are outlawing them all over this area. D.C. is smokeless everywhere (except in taxi cabs......for a couple bucks you can smoke anything in there). Maryland is doing away with public smoking around the first of the year, and my visits home to the good ole' WV are now free of public smoking (by the way, whats up with that, WV used to be the last state to jump on any bandwagon....eg. seatbelts). Problem is, I live right agross the state line in PA, and smoking is allowed just about anywhere. This may be the only northern state left that still has the sweet smell of smoke hanging in the air. I just wish they would outlaw the fuckin things.

Titties and beer...thank God almighty for titties and beer!

1.) Near-fresh pack of smokes (before Al pilfers through them)

2.) The highest scented candle to remove all odor from the control room (and to mask my own).

3.) A clear head with as little stress as possible.

and from my time on nights...

4.) Line of random listeners ready and willing to bring TJ and myself dinner at a moment's notice...

5.) Dr. Phil hotkeys just in case Betty calls.

Congrats to everyone who has quit smoking...

Image

It's been over 6 years for me. It was one of the hardest things I ever done, but it's so worth it.

Besides, they're doing everything short of making tobacco illegal, by making sure you can't smoke anywhere... It's nice to not have to worry about that anymore.
Arp2 wrote:Sorry to interrupt, but I'd like to point out that caffeine is a diuretic and, thus, can easily send your voice in the raspy direction. If you're going to be consuming caffeine before and/or during voice work, you might want to be downing fairly significant amounts of plain water at the same time to try to avoid a dry mouth and/or throat..
Even though I quit smoking, I've acquired an energy drink addiction recently... I guess that's why my voice gets scratchy after a few minutes of talking anymore.

Man Sues Over Long-Lasting Erection from health drink
Jun 5, 11:44 PM (ET)

NEW YORK (AP) - A man has sued the maker of the health drink Boost Plus, claiming the vitamin-enriched beverage gave him an erection that would not subside and caused him to be hospitalized.

The lawsuit filed by Christopher Woods of New York said he bought the nutrition beverage made by the pharmaceutical company Novartis AG at a drugstore on June 5, 2004, and drank it.

Woods' court papers say he woke up the next morning "with an erection that would not subside" and sought treatment that day for the condition, called severe priapism.

They say Woods, 29, underwent surgery for implantation of a Winter shunt, which moves blood from one area to another.

No way...no way in the world.

If I have a vice, it's supplements that I probably don't even need, and I've never experienced...well, let's just say that ambulance-chaser wouldn't want me on that jury.
