Lincoln Financial exploring options

Post by Ace Purple »

I wonder if Emmis might use some of its $1.18 billion earned from its TV station sell-off to make a play on this, and in turn possibly spin-off the TV portion? (Note: I only know of 17 radio stations owned by Lincoln, not 18 as multiple news outlets claim.)

CHICAGO -(Dow Jones)- Lincoln National Corp. (LNC) will explore strategic options for the company's Lincoln Financial Media business, the broadcast operator it acquired last year.

Lincoln National acquired the business through its merger with Jefferson-Pilot Corp., which closed in April 2006. The unit consists of 18 radio and three television broadcasting stations in the Southeast and Western U.S. which distribute collegiate basketball and football programming.

Unfortunate, unfortunate, unfortunate....

It would have been fun to have combined the Jefferson Pilot and Susquehanna stations with the Bonneville stations....the ultimate collection of the "non-aligned" "good guys."

"Yes, you do; you just won't admit it!"

"Yeeee...it looks like a 'Belt Buckle & Ball Cap' convention in here......"
