Covering a homicide story this week further proved that sometimes news reporters can find themselves in harms way...just by doing their jobs. WVVA's Annie Moore was out gathering video of Willbrian Apartments where a body was found Saturday when the unthinkable happened.
Someone driving by fired a shot at Moore while she was recording footage. Moore says she felt the bullet whiz by her head and immediately took cover in the news vehicle. Thankfully she was not injured.
Police are now using this video to find those involved. In it, you can see the suspect vehicle as it drives by. Officers and witnesses near the scene say it was definitely a gun shot. The vehicle appears to be an older model Ford pickup truck with a silver tool box in the back.

W.Va. reporter heard backfiring truck, not gunfire
BECKLEY, W.Va. — Police say a West Virginia reporter who ducked for cover after she heard gunfire at the scene of a killing actually heard an aging pickup truck backfire.

I feel her pain. Had a live truck generator backfire at a police standoff once. Needless to say, cops were not happy.Lester wrote:W.Va. reporter heard backfiring truck, not gunfire
