Finally, sticking with radio, a while back I wrote about how West Virginia Public Broadcasting employees were not amused when then-director of broadcasting Bill Acker used his initials for the call letters of the new WVPB radio affiliate in Webster Springs, WWHA-FM.
That was rectified last month, when the FCC approved WVPB’s request to change the station ID to WVWS-FM.

Everybody actually knew that the WHA stood for Webster Springs, Hacker Valley and Addison.
Addison was the historic first name of Webster Springs. Kabler could have asked someone who knew.
