If it's about broadcasting, radio, TV, satellite, cable, this is where to talk about it.

WOUB Dropped By DirecTV In Ohio Market

Post by Mr. Jones »

Athens County subscribers to DirecTV can no longer receive programming from the station, owned and operated by Athens-based Ohio University. WOUB, the FCC says, is in the Columbus DMA, while Athens is in the Charleston-Huntington, W.Va., DMA.

In the past 10 years, this is how I have come to see the FCC.

Should be easy to remedy by WOUB filing with the FCC. Include a road map.

Is Parkersburg/Marietta not a TV market? Not on DirecTV/Dish, at least.....?

Yes, but the market does not include Athens County--just Wood, Washington & Pleasants. WOUB is on tv cable, along with WV pubcasting.

It's called "WVpublic" now.

"pubcasting" would be a big hit across the pond in England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland. It would even have a pretty good audience in Philly and Boston. NYC might be a little too "sophisticated" for this kind of TV, but it would be a big fabulous in the corner "taproom" back in the old neighborhood.
