HUNTINGTON Three new Christian radio stations – 92.3-FM, 98.3-FM The Bridge and Inspiration 1080 AM – are ready for launch Monday in the Tri-State area.
A business group out of Huntington called Expression Production Group purchased the stations in 2014.
The process of acquiring the stations started from a radio program called “Real Life with Kevin West.” The pastor of Expressions Church in Huntington began his radio show on a couple of different stations and soon found himself with offers to purchase them.
The production company, Expression Production Group (EPG), owned by West was originally formed to produce his show became the company that now owns the stations.
“We knew the message God had placed in our hearts was strong and relevant to today’s culture, but we had no idea where it would lead,” West said.
“It’s beyond playing music and programming; it’s equipping individuals to live in their destiny here on the earth through Christ,” he said. “So if a listener is tuning into a show where we pray for specific needs, we want the power of God to move during the broadcast to unlock that person into destiny. It can be through a song, through conversation in a program, whatever it looks like we want it to lead to fruit in their life every day.”
The Bridge’s goal is to bring a diverse and relevant sound to local communities that would help further the Kingdom of God.
The format has been changed to include all sections of society.
“In order to accommodate a diverse listening audience we realized that we needed to be diverse in our content,” said Stephanie Scragg of EPG. “Many of the songs heard come from all styles and backgrounds. From Contemporary Christian and Black Gospel all the way to Southern Gospel, our team believes it all has a place in our society."
The Bridge also believes in a strong revelation of God’s word. Many of the programs featured on the network come not only from our local pastors but also from international speakers from larger congregations.
“We feel that we have been called to connect our communities together as well as the rest of the world. To bridge the gap so to speak,” West said.
“We feel extremely confident in the team God has assembled. We have dynamic people from our Sales team to our General Manager. Everyone has a true heart for ministry and this region.”
