I wonder how many AB students went all the way through college without once listening to their station. No doubt the college was hoping for more coin, but cutting a faculty member with a handful of students was their main intent, and much-more cost-effective.

From the application to the FCC, The $30 grand was for the transmitter (a 7,5 kw Ptek unit, that had never been placed in service) and the license for the station was free.

I was just in the building with the studios the other day, picking some stuff from the also cut art department. Rumor has it that the dean wants the station back.. Take that with a grain of salt, I guess.
