If it's about broadcasting, radio, TV, satellite, cable, this is where to talk about it.

Layoffs at Nexstar's WV stations

Sources tell FTVLive that Nexstar is swinging the ax again.

Word is that a Nexstar Regional Vice President made a surprise visit to WBOY in Clarksburg, WV Thursday morning.

"It was such a surprise that the GM didn't even know what was going on," said our source.

The entire Traffic Department was canned...all 10 of the people in the department were gone in a hot flash!

Now, before someone goes, "how the hell do you have 10 people in your traffic department?!?"...please note that they do the traffic for all of the West Virginia stations which include Wheeling (3 stations), Clarksburg (2 stations), Beckley (2 stations) and Charleston.

Word is that these aren't the only Traffic people that will be getting run over by the Pink Slip Express.

Sources tell FTVLive that Nexstar has plans to be hubbing the traffic in 3 locations for their stations.

Indy, Salt Lake and Tampa will be in charge and the rest of your traffic departments will be long gone.

Stay tuned.....

Randy Yohe seems to be gone from WOWK's website.

This is going on industry-wide. Another big player (who shall remain nameless  ) just completed hubbing of their traffic, but this was only a surprise to the naive, as it could have easily been done years ago.
