West Virginia Radio Corporation has announced the retirement of Dale Miller as company President and CEO after 44 years with the company.

Miller joined the company in 1977 when it has just two stations in Morgantown WV and was promoted to President in 1984. During his tenure, Miller grew the company to its current 32 stations across nine markets in West Virginia and western Maryland. Miller was also responsible for the launch of the statewide MetroNews network in 1985, the construction and operation of the Greer Pavilion concert venue, and served as Executive Producer of the University of West Virginia Mountaineer Sports Network from 1977 to 2013 personally producing all football broadcasts. He later founded video production company Pikewood Creative in 2003, served two terms on the NAB Board of Directors and is a former president of the West Virginia Broadcasters Association.

In a memo, West Virginia Radio Corporation Chairman John Raese wrote, ““Dale has had a long and outstanding career leading WVRC for over 44 years. We will miss his leadership but even more so we will miss him as a friend and colleague in the daily life of our business. We wish Dale the very best in his retirement. It is well deserved.”
