Forever Media is selling four stations in Wheeling WV to Cody Barack’s Morning Star Media for $885,000.

Morning Star Media will acquire Classic Rock “Rocky 96.5” WRQY Moundsville WV, Country “Biggie 100.5” WBGI-FM Bellaire OH, Classic Hits “Kool 105.5” WUKL Bethlehem WV, and Classic Country “Willie 1290/100.1” WLIE Bellaire/W261DH Wheeling.

The buyer currently owns Classic Hits “106.3 The River” WCDK Cadiz OH and News/Talk “River Talk” 1430 WEIR/100.9 W265ED Weirton WV also serving portions of the Wheeling market under the name Ohio Midlands Newsgroup.

Forever Media will not completely exit the Wheeling market. The company will retain Classic Country “Willie 103.5” WLYI Burgettstown PA, which is located in the Wheeling market but targets adjacent Pittsburgh where it currently holds a 1.5 share. They will also purchase 94.9 W235BX Colliers WV from Ohio Midlands Newsgroup for $10. The deal states that translator will be used to rebroadcast what is now Classic Hits “Pickle 1490” WOHI East Liverpool OH.

I've personally recently seen TWO TOWERS-ON-TOP-OF-THE-BIGGEST-MOUNTAIN-FOR-HUNDREDS-OF-MILES CLASS C FMs targeting a market you've definitely heard of go for LESS than the price of an average house in that market....stations for which finances are not an issue and a desirable market which, by the way, is guaranteed to significantly grow (percentage) in EVERY way imaginable for AT LEAST THE NEXT DOZEN YEARS. Again, that's TWO stations that put signal into FOUR/FIVE STATES with GUARANTEED population and economic growth in their main market for LESS than the price of an average house there.

This is blowing my mind.
