We are pleased to announce that local ownership has completed its purchase of WJEH-AM and WNTO-FM in Gallipolis. Tina Merry and Dave Diddle are now officially owners of these stations. We wish them the very best and know that they will do a good job for their listeners and advertisers.

Just curious, what format does WJEH run now? Are they still daytime only?

WJEH

WJEH is running adult standards. Great sound with the new 1K transmitter and the digital processing. They reduce power at night to cover Gallipolis.

I grew up listening to WJEH. Discing with Doss, The Chatterbox, Dick Thomas' news -- local radio at its best. Great to learn that 990 & 93.1 will stay local and continue to serve the community. Gallipolis deserves it, as do a lot of communities who've already lost it.

WJEH-AM was my first radio job. It is an extreme honor to be able to contiune to serve the area with this long standing, local station. WNTO-FM Sunny 93.1 is growing quickly and our area is loving the new local station! Many things have been said about Mr. Larry Patrick on this board-all I can say is he was a great boss who has given Dave and I an amazing opprotunity- "thank you" is not sufficient.

We were able to secure very limited nighttime power a few years ago for WJEH-AM--16 watts. Not much but enough to cover the city of license at night on 990 khz.

Again, we wish the new local owners nothing but great success.

I wish Dave and Tina the best. Two very classy people. Hopefully they can get more power for WJEH at night, and later increase the FM's reach as well. Right now Sunny 93.1 gets into Putnam County as far east as Winfield. It's unfortunate that they weren't able to buy The River as well.

When I started working in Gallipolis in '91 101.5 was Classic Rock 101.5 WGTR and 'JEH was a daytime only 990 Country. In the fall of '92 they flipped 'JEH to a news/talk format, so I was wondering what they were doing now. To be a daytimer on low power there were a lot of people listening.

I would listen to WJEH if it did news/talk. I miss River's old format.

The real question is this; should I charge Dave a consulting fee for the advice I give him?
Guess I can live with dating his sister.

Ouch! Just been told by Dave's sister that my post was inappropriate. I should have said, "being used as a sex slave by his sister".
