WVLK AM and ?

Post by Force Commander »

Most of us have at least heard of WVLK-AM

http://wvlkam.com

I for one had not heard about this:

When did this come about?

This summer WVLK-AM was being duped by 101.5 and 102.3. You heard soft, quick spoken legal ID's of WVLK-FM and WCYN. All imaging was 590 driven (just like when KEE was AM/FM and the AM went off and the FM carried on complete with Radio 80 jingles ;) )

They run the save stuff save Sue is on 590 10-12 weekdays and Joe B./Denny is on FM during that time.

Oddly enough, even when WVLK goes into it's night pattern, I usually get a better signal on AM than FM from my travels.

101.5 used to be WLRO "The Arrow" with a classic rock format. Could not run with WKQQ though I personally preferred the WLRO format many times. WLRO went Cont. Christian and then 101.5 "The Planet" with all talk. Now WVLK-FM. I Think is is licenced to Richmond without looking.

The Arrow was a great station. Really enjoyed it whenever I went through Lexington.
