WSIP easy contest?

Post by Force Commander »

Good promotion, or too many hoops to jump through? You be the judge.
How to play

Log onto www.wsipfm.com and search for the smiley face dressed up as Santa. Click on it during the designated days (see below) from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m., fill out the online information form and be entered to win $100 the first two days and $500 the last two days. You can also request a registration form located at the WSIP studio on Main Street in Paintsville. Listen to WSIP the next Monday morning to see if Santa’s granted your wish! If you hear your name, you will be notified and will receive your check in the mail. Good luck and have fun playing for some Stocking Stuffer Cash!

In order to share the "presents," participants can only win once. For a complete list of rules and our privacy statement, refer to www.wsipfm.com and follow the appropriate links.

Dates you can play (all dates are Fridays and you can register from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.)

Nov. 23 and 30 – a chance to win $100 each day!

Dec. 14 and 21 – a chance to win $500 each day!

As written, as I read it, entrants are required to locate that graphic just before 7am on the designated days, spend the next eleven straight hours clicking on it, and then fill out some sort of entry just after 6pm.

If you would prefer not to invest 11+ hours, it appears you may request some sort of alternate entry in person, but there's no exact address. As written, there's no guarantee you'll receive it or be able to actually submit it, though.

I need an opinion from Arp. If you visit a web page that does not require a user name and password, do you actually "log on" to it?

And why isn't Melvin Goins on the DJ page?

It's funny you mention that.

I was going to say something, but I figured people would think I'm completely nuts.

Instead of just partially nuts. Which I am.

But I'm willing to let that go for the sake of combatting all the mistaken "backslash"* stuff I hear in commercials and some promos out there -- backslash does things with directories in DOS, but I don't think it does anything, at all, on the internet, does it?? I mean, other than make things wrong? Where'd this come from??? It's just "slash," people!

It's a throw back to the days of "logging on" to AOL/Prodigy/CompuServe/MindSpring/OrWhatEverISPYourParentsWereWillingToShellout$40 perMonthToSoYouCanDoSchoolWorkButYouWereReallyDownloadingFreePorn

I hear that log on to www.whatever.com shit all the time and it pisses me off, too.
