Lucille S. Smith Dead At 90

Post by Force Commander »

I was digging around allaccess and found this sad note dated November 7th, 2007

Condolences to the family and friends of LUCILLE S. SMITH, a radio personality and columnist in eastern KENTUCKY, who died TUESDAY. She was 90.

The PIKESVILLEnative held several public offices, including chief deputy county court clerk and county tax commissioner, before taking to the airwaves in 1964 with her "The Personal Touch" radio show. SMITH received the KENTUCKY Mike Award, a high honor for personal contributions to broadcasting, from the KENTUCKY BROADCASTERS ASSOCIATION in 2005.

SMITH is survived by a son, a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter
"We are the CC Borg. Lower your shields and surrender your broadcast stations. We will add your biological and creative distinctiveness to our own. Your broadcast personality will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile."
