Bill Cunningham's TV show going national on CW Network

Post by EZ103.3FM »

From John Kiesewetter's blog at cincinnati.com:

Can you believe it? Bill Cunningham’s TV show — which has been a bigger success with viewers in New York, Chicago, Miami and Dallas than here in his hometown — will go national and network this September.

“The Bill Cunningham Show” will air nationwide on the CW network at 3 p.m. weekdays starting this fall, Tribune Broadcasting and the CW announced today.

Executives at the Chicago-based Tribune Co., which launched “Cunningham” on its 24 stations last September, had said Willie would go national if his shows drew enough viewers.

Cunningham, who turned 64 in December, will continue double duty — doing his noon-3 p.m. weekday show on WLW-AM (700) around commuting to New York (out Monday night, back Thursday night) to tape the TV shows. He broadcasts his radio show (and often records interviews, like with Vice President Joe Biden on the morning of Feb. 9) from a specially-built radio studio next to his TV studio at the NEP Penn Studios on Manhattan.
