Chief Meteorologist Kevin Carter of WTOV9 retiring tonight

Post by Greg Goodfellow »

James "Jim" Trefney can do a much-better job with this, and I hope he follow sup, but I just saw where WTOV9 (Steubenville, Ohio) Chief Meteorolgist Kevin Carter is retiring tonight. Jim will correct me, I''m sure, but he has spent at least 30 years broadcasting weather. I remember when he arrived at WTOV in 1990. IIRC, he briefly left, but chose to come back. It appears that Jeff Oeschlein will move up to Chief Meteorologist, with Nathan Shutt taking over the morning duties, along with utility man Brian Ivey. It appears they will add to their weather stable to retore it to four. Congratulation to Kevin Carter for thousands of excellent forecasts. He is one of the many reasons why WTOV rules in the upper Oio Valley.
