OMG..... Spike?

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

OMG..... Spike?

Post by genlock »

When was Spike back in the old country?

From some limey newspaper:

Scientists have created the world's first human-sheep chimera - which has the body of a sheep and half-human organs.

The sheep have 15 per cent human cells and 85 per cent animal cells - and their evolution brings the prospect of animal organs being transplanted into humans one step closer.

Professor Esmail Zanjani, of the University of Nevada, has spent seven years and £5million perfecting the technique, which involves injecting adult human cells into a sheep's foetus.

Great research! I had a pig's heart valve transplanted into me in 1981!! And again in 1990! (explains a lot, huh?)

I was back there for xmas. And I wouldn't know anything about it. *whistles*

(still, having parts of a sheep inside a Scotsman... makes a nice change, huh?)
So sayeth His Royal Highness King Spike; greatest broadcasting talent of his generation.

Snarky comments aside, your statement is true. My family heritage is but one small example...

You know why ranchers bang sheep close to a cliff?

Its so the sheep will push back.

Yea...I got nothing today.

Wasn't that the focus of one of those three documentaries your "public" TV did?

Arp, what in the hell are you talking about??

Cameron said this:

And I jokingly said this:

I do not recall ANYWHERE I said the words "public", "documentaries", or "TV."

I was referring to the stereotype that WVA'ians have relations in the biblical sense with SHEEP...

That is all.

It said a large amount of the population of WV is of Scotish and/or something-or-other-mixed-descent, so I thought that was already a given.

so, where does this guy fit in....

Near Raleigh, North Carolina, police seized a flock of sheep that had
wandered away from a home to graze on flowers in a cemetery. The
animals' owner, David Watts, kept about 80 of the animals in his
house. Police say he lived upstairs and the sheep were living
downstairs. Watts was often seen walking some of the sheep around the
neighborhood on a leash.

APEX, N.C. (AP) - A man who kept 77 sheep in his suburban home was charged Wednesday with 30 counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty.

David Watts, 47, was being held at the Wake County jail in lieu of $30,000 bail, police Detective Joey Best said.

Watts surrendered the flock to animal control officers Monday after police found some sheep grazing on artificial flowers in the town cemetery in Apex, a suburb of Raleigh.

Thirty of the sheep were euthanized because of various health problems. In addition, sheep bones and carcasses were found in Watts' yard.

Veterinarian Kelli Ferris, who examined the flock, said some of the animals' hooves had never been trimmed, causing infections that led the sheep to walk on their knees.
