WV in the national news

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

WV in the national news

Post by Mr. Jones »

Sunday on FNC, Hannity's America wrapped the show by listing all the structures in Huntington and Charleston named for Robert Byrd, and how much he "squeezed" Congress for the funding.

Monday on CBS, there was an extended story on medial billing errors, featuring Joe Manchin and what he's trying to do after getting stiffed himself after recent knee surgery.

Missed a ton by not including Morgantown.

And yet Byrd remains the only non millionaire in the Senate. At least as of 2005.

Hold on. It isn't national news. Hannity and Colmes is an opinion show only. It isn't news. Fox News is politically unbiased when it comes to news.

True....that's a fact.

But it was actually on Hannity's America on Sunday night, not Hannity & Colmes. Several politicians who frequently pile up the pork and stick their names on things were mentioned, but Byrd, being the overwhelming biggest example, was the focus.

Like I've said before, you guys need to start getting his name off things right now so that this egotistical steal-and-spender and all who observe him can know all about it before he slips even more into dementia.

Yeah, because West Virginians would much rather have someone on Capitol Hill who DOESN'T get stuff for the state.

Exactly.

Rumor is West Virginians are always wanting and being promised jobs. Well, name one business that would voluntarily choose to locate in and bring jobs to a state where tort lawyers, union thuggery, and vote fraud make up the dominant industries and everything sports the name of a politician who wants to steal any profit you might make. As it is now, politicos like Byrd "get stuff" in just enough of a quantity such that the state stays viable enough a little longer for said dominant industries. They're like tapeworms that keep their hosts alive and hungry for as long as possible and then slither out when the host finally dies and there's nothing more for the parasite to take out.

You're absolutely right. Let's get out there and start tearing down those bridges right now. And Corridor H. Need to shut that down right away. No way that would ever spur development. Shut down all those stores and restaurants out there in S. Charleston along the Corridor too. Bunch of parasites, all of 'em.

Yeah, I was just being a smart ass. I didn't mean to start a rumble.

This is a common theme throughout my life from about age 6.

Problem with what? Video evidence of a politician worshipping himself with America's money eleven times in only two small cities was shown to America. :?

What's the case for attaching his name to all this stuff??? Don't fake-gripe about the show...make the case!

That's "G" (how come I know that better?), the retailers there are not the dominant industries of WV I likened to parasites, and they could have located anywhere.

Remember and think through the analogy -- like tapeworms, the tort lawyers, union thugs, and vote-buyers keep the host environment alive and comfortable for their own benefit for as long as possible. Luxury automobiles, casual and nicer restaurants, a bookstore...they are not the parasites; they just do well, themselves, in places where the aforementioned live, and the parasites like them being there.

But that's not even relevant...there's no Americans'-stolen-money-paid-for "Robert C Byrd's Fried Chicken" there or anything, and that's what the show segment was about.

And, again, if anyone could name one business that would voluntarily choose to locate in and bring jobs to a state where tort lawyers, union thuggery, and vote fraud make up the dominant industries and everything sports the name of a politician who wants to steal any profit you might make, that would be great.

Teach a man to fish, and you'll feed him life. Keep giving a man a fish, and he'll keep voting for Robert Byrd.

For the record Corridor G and Corridor H are two different highways, entirely.

Why in the hell do people refer to these highways by their original ARC construction designations instead of their actual marked route numbers?
