Jet And Scott's Halloween Spectacular #3

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

This brings a happy tear to my eye.

Goodfellow - Aren't you the Knights 91 guy? I get a helluva kick out of your station. You do the Halloween thing on the radio and I'll be your devoted fan forever. Nobody else has the nerve to do anything for Halloween, except congradulate themselves on-air for non plating Monster Mash.

By the way, anybody have a Rhino Brain In A Box they want to sell, cheap?

Brownsville Station - Eats
Edgar Winter - Frankenstein
Warren Zevon - Werewolves Of London
Blue Oyster Cult - Godzilla
Ramoanes - Teenage Lobotomy

Nice additions, Jet.

Of course, "Eats" made me remember "The Martian Boogie" and "The Martian Hop", whereas "Godzilla" reminded me that I had overlooked "Don't Fear The Reaper".

They have all been added, along with the two Spinal Tap classics that flogged my memory...

Guilty as charged, Jet. A gentleman new to this board named 'Dr. Yet' does a fantastic job for us every Saturday night. I wanted to get him some titles to start. Thanks to both you and Scott! BTW, we also aired Jim Mack's "The New Oldies Show" recently, but I need to get him to send new affidavits so we may get new shows.

Keep in mind I don't know nothin' about no country songs.

And I guess there could be a few Halloween classical pieces...

...and, yeah, Scott's too polite to say, but the song I always remember as Eats is of course The Martian Boogie.

I can see my bit torrent is going to be busy over the next month. This is one hell of a October playlist for my iPod.

..and, yeah, Scott's the one that thought you had some great Brownsville Station revelation that he had never had and thus just left it on the list unknowingly.

Politeness was not the determining factor here...

Did we get Weird Science, Ghostbusters, or Back In Time?

Classical? That's tough. Mozarts Requiem? Death March Of The Mariannettes (sp.)? Flight of the Valkeries? Night On Bald Mountain? How about Mars, Bringer Of War from Holstz's The Planets?
God Bless Us, Every One.

Hey, Greg! Hey, Scott!
"Ghost Riders" I listed The Outlaws version, "Haunted House" the Gene Simmons version, I listed "The Legend Of Wooley Swamp", I have no idea about the Coe and "Yellow Creek" songs, but I'll check them out.

Jim Stafford - Spider & Snakes..... Hmmm......

My first thought for Jim Stafford is Swamp Witch which is much more cool than Spiders & Snakes. But then again the song Wildwood Weed is about as cool as Swamp Witch while Spiders & Snakes ranks right up there with the Wildwood Weed's buds in popularity.

I edited the original post and included a "Day Two" section with the following cuts listed:

The Alan Parsons Project--Psychobabble
Bouys--Timothy (the only Top 40 hit about cannibalism, sung by Rupert Holmes no less...)
Jimi Hendrix Experience--Voodoo Chile
Lynyrd Skynyrd--That Smell
Cashman And West--Medicine Man
Roger Glover--The Mask
Status Quo--Face Without A Soul
Echo And The Bunnymen--The Cutter
Lou Reed--Kill Your Sons
The Eagles--Good Day In Hell
Be Bop DeLuxe--Axe Victim
Rihanna--Disturbia
Nazareth--Witchdoctor Woman

And the one song I keep thinking I should add, due to lyrical content and not the title is "Sleeping Partners" by Doll By Doll. If you ever want to hear an EXCELLENT album that I would figure less than 500 people in America own a copy of, this it! Providing you can find a copy of the LP ("Remember", 1979). Anyway, the lyrics to "Sleeping Partners" are definitely Halloweenish.

Let us also add here that I am not using http://www.allmusic.com to put this thing together. I have referenced it to check to see if a couple of titles were correct, but all of the songs I've listed have come from the top of ol' Scotty's head...

Five days in and I just remebered "Thriller". I'm actually proud of myself.

Five days in and I just remembered "Gone Dead Train" and "Clap For The Wolfman". I should actually have my "Captain Pitt Membership Card" revoked.

In other words, I added a bunch of stuff to the list in the past couple of days...
