This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

Liberal Justice

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A local attorney was suffering from delirium brought on by an over-the-counter sleep aid when he shot up his South Hills area home last summer and is “not criminally responsible” for his actions, a Kanawha Circuit judge ruled.

Judge Carrie Webster issued an order Tuesday dismissing charges of attempted murder and wanton endangerment against Mark Bramble, who was arrested in August after Charleston police found him shooting inside his Sherwood Forest home. The charges were dismissed with prejudice, meaning they cannot be brought again.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A Jackson County man was charged again Tuesday by federal prosecutors with unlawful transport and sale of wildlife for allegedly capturing wild Eastern box turtles in West Virginia and selling them to out-of-state buyers.

Thomas Pepin, of Ravenswood, was charged by information, which can’t be filed without a defendant’s consent and usually signals a defendant has agreed to cooperate with prosecutors. In April, Pepin was indicted by a federal grand jury on two counts of that charge.

All three charges say that Pepin hunted and captured the turtles from sites near his home between July 2012 and September 2013.

This guy is a total d-bag and should be sentenced to being shipped in the same manner that he shipped those poor turtles. I would even give him the benefit of being shipped overnight via FedEx from Ravenswood to Philly which would mean a trip through the automated package sorting gauntlet in Memphis.

The point is that it is apparently more critical to our society that we punish a guy who
improperly ships turtles than a guy who shoots up his neighborhood while high on dope.

I just saw the first one as an example of typical politics. No judge is going to punish a colleague who does something stupid for fear they might be on the other side of the bench someday.

The guy with the box turtles was charged by the Feds due to crossing state lines with animals that are not legal to capture and sell in any state but South Carolina. I am shocked with the douchebags that run the DOJ that he was not charged as a terrorist for shipping an animal vector known to carry bacteria that is dangerous to humans as a type of "biologic" weapon of mass destruction.
