Just to clarify the situation

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

Just to clarify the situation

Post by genlock »

(CNSNews.com) - Dr. Tom Frieden, director for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), said during a telephone press briefing Wednesday that you cannot get Ebola by sitting next to someone on a bus, but that infected or exposed persons should not ride public transportation because they could transmit the disease to someone else.
"Everyone Should be aware that you're just a screen grab away from infamy."

Dr Tom Frieden? He of NYC's smoking ban and soda tax/ban? Whose qualifications are TV-anchor good looks and teleprompter reading, attendance at the most extreme of leftist universities, and a near-endless list of government jobs but very little rubber-meets-the-road medical experience? Oh, yeah....that guy. "You're doin' a great job, Tommy!"

Interesting to note -- CNN, again recently trying to position itself as an unbiased news outlet, writes in their "unbiased reporting" on him the following:
  • In his career, Frieden, a graduate of Oberlin and Columbia, has undoubtedly over-achieved and saved thousands of lives. His is a background that inspires confidence, and he has shown that in his messages on Ebola.
(By the way, "accurate" CNN, "overachieved" is NOT hyphenated.)
"I don't know the same things you don't know."

"Yes, you do; you just won't admit it!"

It also shouldn't be further hyperbolized with words like "undoubtedly" in front of it. That isn't a question of grammar. It is a matter not being an asshat.

Also, have you ever noticed that no one ever uses "undoubtedly" unless there is doubt about the subject?

Actually chuckled out loud at that....and, of course, immediately thought, "settled science, settled science, settled science," too......
