New stream detected on WOWK

Post by genlock » Wed Jun 14, 2006 12:07 pm

13.2/ WOWK-D2 detected today.
Seems to be the dame as D1 stream.
Wonder what Bray will put on stream number 2?
10 pm news? 5pm and 5:30 news?
Does CBS have a network service available for a 2nd channel?

13-1 points at an HD version of CBS, while 13-2 points at an SD version.

I would suspect that WOWK is testing if it can squeze two signals in, before signing with something or the other. CBS has nothing going. Probably music videos or a loop of the news or something.

The smart play for either WOWK or WVAH is to mutually increase OTA ranges with WHCP, via simulcasting each other's signals on their *-2 chanels.

WSAZ is running teasers for "My Buzz, WSAZZZZZZZZZ" with a bee character, which will apparently be the theme for 3-2, which will be the local affiliate of My Network TV.

Obligatory drug jokes relative to "My Buzz" will now follow.

They're going to call it MY Z TV.

A job listing on the SAZ website lists the news website as MYZTV.tv.

WOWK-DT 13.2 now is the Charleston weather radar, with the audio of whatever is on WOWK, in the background.

It will be interesting to see how well "Z" does, in as much as most viewers still don't have "D" TV and don't know what a second channel is. On the other hand, what is the point of multi channels if you can't run HD at the same time?

WOWK-D2 has apparently sold bug rights to it's weather scan to
Cabell Huntington Hospital Emergency Room.
I wonder if that's the best WOWK can do with it's second channel.
