From their current location? Here's how their current - and future, licenses read and will read:

Licensee will assume responsibility for the installation and adjustment of suitable filter circuits or other equipment that may be necessary to prevent excessive or internal cross-modulation with co-located station WRVC(AM), Huntington WV, 930kHz, ID# 21435

If they want to pay to re-design and filter the 930 array to keep 22kw of 1200 out of it and its re-radiation - go for it.

Let it happen, then apply for an FM translator.

Translators are a Pox on the FM radio dial.

The apps. are for 22KW daytime. 8KW critical hours and 9 watts night. I can yell that far! (almost)
Let it happen, then apply for an FM translator.
How could you justify translators with the 9 watt nightime coverage?

Post by RADIOHEAD 1 »

I've noticed for the last week WEMM-am has been off the air....
Anybody know why? Are they upgrading to 22KW or was it taken out in last weeks storm and they're waitng on donations to pay for repairs...

Shouldn't that be WEMM (AM)?

In casual conversation, I suppose you can refer to it however you want. For actual proper designation, it's WEMM. There is no AM suffix; a proper legal ID, even for an AM/FM simulcast with the same calls, would go like this:

WEMM/Huntington, WEMM-FM/Huntington.

Bonneville's legal ID practices since the creation of Washington Post Radio have been driving me crazy. Starting when the WTOP call was moved to 820 in Frederick, MD, the legal ID string for the WTOP and WTWP frequencies have included -AM for 820 and 1500. Urrr.

WEMM was off the air during this time frame for total automation failure.

If I were working for WEMM am I would check the ground system. when I was working for WPLH every time the weeds would grow up the drunks on 14st would take a stick and start near the tower and scrape down and find a ground wire, pull it up and away to Taylor Metals and then go to the liquor store. this happened several times. Bob Nixon put a 12 by 12 copper screen around the base of the tower in concert to make it harder for them to find the wires. wonder how much of the ground field is still there??

Pay yer taxes? :o

They're PDF documents, so you might get a dialog box asking if you want to open such a document after clicking the link. In any case, Acrobat will launch after the document completely downloads. The comprehensive report is 3 MB, so you might have to wait a bit.

FCC didn't like Mozilla, used IE and everything worked.
I wonder if this will cause some headaches for Cameron?
