I'm thinking about eliminating the use of the Phillips 765 home recorder and going direct into the old Compaq 5050 (395 MHz). What are my choices as far as good (but cheap) input cards and supporting programs to do this these days?

you can get a 24bit sound blaster for around 20 bucks at walmart.....
