100.7 in Fayetteville

Post by AmpedNow »

Someone told me they are running 6kw from the WSWP tower, relaying Boss 97.

1. How did they get on so fast?

2. In your heart of hearts, can you honestly tell me that WV really needs another country station?

Radio-Locator doesn't even have them listed yet, so they must be really new.

Was a channel in the last auction, but licensed to Arnoldsville (east of Spencer). Once they got the CP they moved to Fayetteville.

According to 100000watts.com, 100.7 in Fayetteville (WVBD) has debuted with classic country as "West Virginia's Big Daddy".

WV needs another country station as bad as it needs another story of cousins marrying.

Sorry, you can't go anywhere in the state without MULTIPLE FM signals hitting you with country music...

Who moves a station to Fayetteville? I wonder who is involved in this. Sounds suspicious.

Here's an article about the sign-on (before the shift to classic country):

http://www.register-herald.com/business ... 01905.html

That article identifies the owner as Daniel Finch.

Same one, from what I understand.

*edit* Just read the article... I assume 3,800 ft would be the height above sea level to the top of the antenna.

FTR, I thought Lick Knob, where the Southern signals are, was higher. If not, it still delivers better overall coverage, esp to the north and west.

Then again, I'm comparing 6kw to 50kw erp.
