WPBY has on file an STA with the Commission to cease operations at their current site.
They're carting a 500 watt DTV transmitter to the WOWK-DT site and operating from 13's recently-decommissioned channel 47 antenna.
The WPBY antenna has to be physically-removed from their tower for repair and the facility will go dark.

Sta DTV coverage is better than regular coverage.
With 1/3 power, fewer microwave links, no power consumption.

Antenna fix will be so expensive, better to replace antenna with a more reliable model.
Like a pylon, center-fed type. Antenna that burned up has a maze of cables inside it.
Lots of potential points of failure. Apparently one of them did. Lucky WOWK has an available facility.
And EBA had a spare DTV translator. Now we will not miss Teletubbies.

WOWK's UHF antenna is a broadband type so OK on channel 34.

Genlock... in what way will this affect the 146.64 repeater. Are the antenna and feedline going to be installed at the same time? How long will it take WPBY to make repairs and be back on their regular tower?

There will be an initial flurry of activity as they wonder what to do.
If they decide to fix the antenna (not likely),
there will be a crew to take the antenna down and put it on a truck to go
to Raymond, Maine for repairs. When it is fixed, the crew will return and
put the antenna back up.
A more likely scenario is that the station will order a pylon antenna for channel 34 and wait till
it arrives to take the defective antenna down. That will save about 25% in total rigging expenses.
146.64 repeater replacement is completed and waiting to put antenna back up.
Maybe this is the opportunity we need to do that. We shall see.

No, the original pylon(a TFU-36jdas) was replaced in 1995
with a TFU-36 jdas/v (radome). That new antenna was taken down
to put up the broadband TCI antenna that apparently is defective.
The radome was nice. No more antenna heaters or icing.

I was up at the site when they were cooking into that standing-wave. The reflected-VSWR meter was reading what most would like to see as forward-power.
