Everywhere else is not an option...

FAIRMONT, W.Va. (AP) -- The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has picked Fairmont as the agency's emergency backup site for its environmental satellite network.

The agency says operations for its Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite Series R system will transfer to Fairmont if facilities in Maryland and Virginia become inoperable.

Fairmont also met the agency's requirement for antenna having a line-of-sight view of satellites orbiting more than 22,000 miles overhead.
NOAA says it plans to build three antennas at the site, which is located in Fairmont's technology park.

Construction is expected to begin by the end of next year.

...this just in. I have a 2-foot dish in my front yard that meets that highly-prohibitive criteria.

GOES is at 75 and 135...so anywhere you can put a radio station receiving AMC-8 and Galaxy 16 will do.
