WSAZ'S AUDIO PROCESSING

Post by RADIOHEAD 1 »

Have you noticed how processed their audio is...background noise is sucked up to the point where it's annoying..
In studio when they go to an anchor or reportor the background is almost as loud as the talent..It's even worse on
live shots and network work shows.....

If they're using one of the new digital units..reading the book might help...Maybe raising the noise threshold would help...

Eight and Fox don't seem to have that problem...13 isn't that bad either...

There volume on 3.1 is about 40% of what everyone else is OTA. The others blast out of my set. SAZ is a whisper.

At least they haven't moved out!

What I heard the other day sounded like someone left the studio door and the control room door
open at the same time. Hollow sound, beginnings of an echo. Not quite to feedback level.

The best solution is to eliminate the noise, rather than decreasing the compression.
