Some gimmick (really good looking) antennas actually have a gain of less than one.
Some have built in pre-amplifiers.
It may be easier to build your own.
Most effective way to boost your signal is to use quality feedline and properly installed connectors.

The ClearStream 2 and the Terk are known to work well.

Solid for 60+ miles out without an amp.

If you have the room, pinpoint with a programmable rotator. (If you're clear of 3' of obstructions in a circle).
