Unlocking CD/DVD drives

My internal CD/DVD drive on my laptop is frozen at Region 1 (long story), does anyone know any solutions for locking it on Region 0? I've tried searching for firmware for my model number, but have come up a blank.

As in you've already changed it 5 times?

so it thinks. what actually happened was that i installed the region-cracking firmware and all was well, but when I had to replace the hard drive and reinstall everything, the drive thought I was out of changes. but yeah, more or less, that's how it's behaving.
