And there was WROV in Roanoke, a city about the size of Charleston. WKAZ and over-all Charleston radio was aways as good if not better that most markets in the region in the 50s, 60s and early 70s. Columbus, Lexington and Knoxville were toilets - Charleston radio excelled. If your aircheck was from Charleston PDs in Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Cinncinnati would at least listen, But there was WROV - a great little radio station -- everyone wanted to put WROV on their resume.
