I finally ditched my last crt monitor. Got 22" wide screen.
Only tubes left are final in HF amp and in VHF amp.
Be awhile on those.
Waiting on LED lightbulbs.
No more crt

Way to hold-out until at least 50% of the market-share was the new technology.

Re: No more crt
My brother, until recently, had several CRTs piled up in his apartment including a 15". I don't know if he was waiting for CRTs to make some sort of a retro comeback or what. Pack rat.

It was a fabulous day when I upgraded to dual 24" flat panels for my desktop computer. I still have a 17" and two 15" CRTs that I need to toss out in KY. But that 15 year old NEC 4FGe may never die the way it is built. I could anchor the QE2 with that heavy monitor.genlock wrote:I finally ditched my last crt monitor. Got 22" wide screen.

How do multiple monitors work? I've heard once you go there, you'll never go back to a single monitor.
Probably great for multiple windows. Or gaming.

Re: No more crt
I am also using dual screens at work which is the screen on my Lenovo T60 and a Princeton 17" LCD.
I have to agree that just using a 1280X800 on my HP DV4000 laptop is not as fun as using my dual 1920X1280 wide screens (essentially 3840 X 1280) especially when working with Photoshop Lightroom 2.0 on dual screens for photo processing.
I just found that Sam's Club has 24" monitors for $250.00. I am thinking about picking up another pair for my "Spare Parts" project which has turned into a slightly smaller version of my monster.
