Any Way To Tell Where An Email Has Been Sent From?

Simple question for some, probably, but not for me.

I remember hearing when that last pro wrestler died that they traced emails he had sent and those that were sent to him. Is something that "normal folks like us" can do? Don't need exact street addresses, just to get in the "ball park".

Depends on what was used to send the email, and what you use to read it.

Outlook uses a selection called OPTIONS (on an opened email). Outlook Express uses PROPERTIES (on the second tab called DETAILS). I use Thunderbird at home, but haven't tried this feature to walk you through it. You can then GEO-IP to get a little closer to the sender's location, depending on their ISP.

You need to dig through the information, but generally speaking the last (working from top down) RECEIVED: entry is the IP address that launched your email out into the world.
