Re: Radio Museum Auction Tomorrow
i don't know how they pick people to be in the hall of fame. some of the people that had a GREAT effect on radio and tv in this area have not been put in this hall of fame. what about Eddie Wanters, Bill Gyier, Don Reese? all had important parts in broadcasting. Gene Stephenson with 42 years at WOWK, WHTN Tv and WEMM and WTCR? a lot of people have worked long and hard but it seems like only the bosses are chosen. what about Dick Martin, Ken Able, Nick Fantasia and Dave McLain and John McKinney? have these been nominated? I can think of many othere that should be there another was Ken Jones of TV that was killed in the Marshall plane crash??

Re: Radio Museum Auction Tomorrow
You are absolutely right. It seems to be more of a popularity contest of who can get butts through the door. And the dead can't nominate themselves.
I'm not downplaying the many of the ones that are there... but as with most things... if no one is nominating them... they aren't being considered. I'd encourage anyone that has a nomination, and the ability/knowledge to write up WHY, do so.
Nominations can be submitted to: TMRes@aol.com

Re: Radio Museum Auction Tomorrow
that is Eddie Walters i and Bill well i can't spell his last name but know that a lot of people know him. Don Reese started out while in school on saturday mornings on WHTN radio and Chuck Crouse from the Highlawn drive in at third ave and 25th st. then Lloyd Garten from Shoneys drive in, this was where Ginos Pub is now. WSAZ radio had an old Grayhound bus set up there. but i would guess that most of you were not even thought of at that time. also Seeb Tweel from Star's record bar. these were great times for RADIO

I stopped by the aution and bought an old, useless radio relic. I know it's useless because every time I say, "Nunley, will you..." he just says, "Do it yourself. I'm in management."
