Re: WTGC/Washington DC flipping to Hot AC
That's WTGB - "The Globe." What started as an AAA with a bit of an eco-vibe slowly morphed into straight-ahead classic rock. Too bad.
The ghost of alt rock WHFS will continue on the HD2.
Their website - clasicrock947.com - has already changed.

Aircheck? You'd make a great board op.

Yes, WTGB are the calls, not WTGC. Thanks for the correction. It will be interesting to see how quickly the change impacts DC with the PPMs (if at all).

Couldn't be worse? PPMs have not been to kind to CBS here.Ace Purple wrote:It will be interesting to see how quickly the change impacts DC with the PPMs (if at all).

Looks like Hot dodged a bullet.
Fresh could still flank a decent share of the 25-34 F demo from them, though.
It also seems like WJFK is fairly safe after all.

They flipped on Monday morning, leaving DC without a classic rocker.

Rumor is the WHFS calls might be moved here, since they go with "Fresh".
That would be sacrilegious to me, considering their heritage.

Sad that classic rock seems to be a dying format.
Despite the fact that the classics dominate most rock stations...

They've worn it out just like every other programming "formula" in radio ...Mike wrote:Sad that classic rock seems to be a dying format.

Translators are a Pox on the FM radio dial.
