Big smartphones

A battle has begun.
Smartphones are showing up with 4.3" screens.

Do "they" have Madia-FLow, ( aka FLO-TV ) in eather of your area's ?

My semi-smart phone has a 16:9 HD display ( so the book says ..... ).
Small......, but It's viewable.
Several times, I couldn't be home to watch "24" from fox local. But I was able to watch it on the Cell Phone.
It is neet. And this will be more dangerous than text messaging while driving.
Media-Flow has some rights to certin shows real time. They just cover the commericals with Moble TV promo's.

It's a new world, and the "kids" want is portable and in their pockets.........
"..... If you are not part of the solution,
then you are part of the problem........

I recently seen FLO-TV for sale at Target in S. Charleston. But according to their coverage map, nowhere in WV has coverage... Strange selling a virtually useless product.

I don't know much about FLO. Do they use another provider's network? Or are they building out their own?

Either way, this product has to use an enormous amount of bandwidth. It seems more suited for a future 4G world. A product ahead of its time.

Heck, I want everything in my pocket... And car dashboard.

FLO broadcasts on channel 55. Qualcomm product. Transmitter list is here.
Aircheck? You'd make a great board op.

I thought this was going on the WCHS/WVAH tower. Last I heard it was supposed to have been done 2 years ago. Wonder what happened?

This is pretty awesome.

Notice all of the 50kw transmitters in LA alone...

Speaking of, some DTV stations are transmitting an OTA mobile version of their channels, specifically for mobile devices. All you need is a DTV chip in your phone to watch local TV anywhere.
