Sprint 4G in Huntington

Post by genlock »

I found a signal 2 days in a row on the interstate near exit 11.
Also got a signal on Chesapeake by-pass on Saturday.
Phone connected to network and gave me IP #'s in both cases.
107.45.246.250 and 107.46.255.107 comes back to Kansas and Detroit.
4G is too high for skip. Tropo? Improbable.

What?

I did pull over prior to messing with the phone.
If this was tropo, It was real DX for the 2ghz band.

Thanks for reaching out to us. We're currently deploying LTE coverage in West Virginia as we speak! During the testing and deployment stages, you may be able to acquire an LTE signal, and customers are welcome to use it. But just keep in mind that the LTE towers are still being tuned and tested, so from time to time you may notice that the signal may be unavailable. LTE coverage is currently available in Martinsburg WV, and we're working on getting it deployed to more areas of WV in a within few months.

Connected today and ran a speed test app.
17.5 megabits up and down.
Even gave an address, went there, connected and got another address.
Went to the other address and connected and got another address.
Gave up and went to lunch.
Sprint.

Funny. Sprint is going to have LTE rolled out to WV before they get it installed in the Philly Metro. They are blaming the roll out mess up in this area on Superstorm Sandy.

For now, I am fine running WiMax in this area, but I would love to have LTE service where I spend the majority of my time by the time I am ready to upgrade my Galaxy SII's for a pair of Galaxy S4's in 6 months.
