Well, What else is new?

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

Well, What else is new?

Post by genlock »

Is this a TV station of Hedonism II?

Yesterday, FTVLive told you about the lawsuit being filed by a former sales guy against WOIO in Cleveland.

Kevin Flanigan is suing the WOIO and parent company Raycom claiming that station encouraged the use of sexual favors and sexually explicit tactics to entice advertising clients and that drug use and alcohol use at advertising-related events was common.

The Daily Mail writes that station executives allegedly bought cocaine at work and had sex with clients in what has been described as a ‘Gomorrah-like’ office environment, according to Mr Flanigan's lawsuit filed last week.

Advertising staff at the station are said to have done whatever it took to ‘foster new business relationships’ - including giving clients oral sex.

The legal documents state that Mr Flanigan was hired by WOIO in 2010 and that executive Debra Pando preferred the company of women so began to discriminate against him.

He says there was pressure to ‘engage in inappropriate sexual practices including sexual contact with other employees and clients and rampant use of illegal drugs at corporate events, many times involving clients’.

The lawsuit alleges that in one instance at a party ‘after smoking marijuana with a client, Miss Pando performed oral sex on a client in order to convince the client to remain the sponsor of the event’.

Miss Pando is said to have passed out drunk on a sofa in front of one client and his 20-year-old son, and became so inebriated at another event that she took off her top and flashed passers-by, Mr Flanigan alleges in his lawsuit.

Stay tuned, this could get really good.

One of the anchors at WOIO is Catherine Bosley.

While still an anchor at WKBN in 2003, Bosley made national news by entering a wet T-shirt contest at a bar in Key West, during which she stripped and appeared fully nude. After footage of the competition was broadcast on the Internet, as well as on a local television station, Bosley would resign from WKBN.[3][4]

After Hustler magazine had published photos of the Key West event, Bosley sued the Larry Flint owned publication claiming copyright infringement, because she had purchased the rights to the photographs before the scandal broke. Hustler published the photos, claiming a fair use exception. The judge rejected the fair use argument and Hustler also lost on appeal.

Sharon Reed is a former anchor at WOIO.

TV Anchorwoman Appears Nude On Newscast (AP)

A television news anchor appeared nude on an 11 p.m. newscast in a first-person report about an artist’s photographs, drawing a record number of viewers for that time slot, the station said. Sharon Reed was one of hundreds of people who participated in Spencer Tunick’s nude photo installation in downtown Cleveland in June. Her report, shown Monday on WOIO-TV, showed far away angles of her nude and some closer seminude shots, as well as other participants.

I got the same cease and desist, but I complied with mine. :-D

Buying the pictures was an extremely slick move by her and her hubby.

Is she the one who also is one of Lebron's baby mammas?

Also, does it make me a terrible person that not one single thing described about that sales staff seemed out of the ordinary or even noteworthy to me?
