Great night for FM DXing...

Post by Clay JD Walker »

Don't know about all of the atmospheric conditions that make tonight so special, but it's a great night to listen to the moon...

On the SuperTuner IIID in the Honda, when I got off the air at 7, and my drive from the hill to Cross Lanes to the gym, I was able to catch:

Parkersburg --> WXIL, V96.9 (fought WXBQ in Bristol)
Clarkesburg --> Magic 106.5, WFBY
Buckhannon --> WBTQ, WBRB
Flatwoods --> WDBS, C93, WADF
Beckley --> WCIR, Big Dawg 99.5 (or whatever it's called...sorry)
Bluefield --> J104.5
Logan --> WVOW
Huntington --> Plenty, but I always hear them
Bristol --> WXBQ (fighting with V96.9 Parkersburg)

Here's the coolest thing...I have a killer Kenwood KR-4070 reciever that Randy Johnson tuned for me simply hooked up to a set of rabbit ears I use to pick up my DTV, and I got the aformentioned as well...

even with WVSR splatting along the harmonics...but it wouldn't be there that much if I didn't live 100 yards from the tower...
