Anyone know anything about Sirius antenna's?

Post by Lester »

The wife's Sportster is permanently broadcasting the "Acquiring Signal" channel, which is no where as good as Lithium 24.

Without having to completely unwire the antenna, does anyone know what a continuity test on the leads should return? Once I've removed that from the mix, I can try and get the head unit replaced.

Thanks.

I have no idea what you'll get back on a continuity check. There must be some sort of load at the other end (LNA?) because I think the antenna is powered by a DC voltage off the receiver.

This seems to be a reoccuring problem on about all of the older Sirius radios... The Starmate Replay and the Sirius One do the same thing.

I don't know what the fix is. It could just be bad contacts in the radios.

It's past time for Sirius to release some next gen radios, anyway...

Even though the radio is still "new", Sirius is still using 2G chipsets...

XM has been 3G for over a year now.
