Jeez man. Y'all have some really negative views on Celebs. Seriously? A Mental breakdown as part of a jump-start to her career?
I can see that first meeting with her publicist. "Here's what we propose. Go out with some new party friends, like Paris, use lots of drugs, get really drunk a lot, flash you cooter getting out of a car, then we'll start down the 'breakdown' path. Maybe you can shave your head or something..."
C'mon, really?
I like to believe in the fragility of human beings.
It's easy to criticize from the outside looking in.

Is it really outwith the realms of possibility? Look at it from her perspective; she's completely tanked her singing career, her acting career was laughed off the screen, she can't even pull the piuos, holier-than-thou good girl routine anymore. In order to get her fix of publicity, what's left for her? Porno? I'd be very surprised if she's not on the talk show circuit within the year, you mark my words. Let's dredge this thread up in March of 2008 and if I'm wrong, I'll apologise.Bob Loblaw wrote: Jeez man. Y'all have some really negative views on Celebs. Seriously? And you're either a far better and more forgiving person than I, or you've just not seen enough of the dark side of life. You're a good bloke, I hope it's the former.Bob Loblaw wrote:I like to believe in the fragility of human beings.

"Single quotes?" Yes......SPIKE NESMITH! wrote:Do *I* consider it dirty work? No, not at all. But in my original comment, "dirty work" had inverted commas around it, denoting that they're not my words or thoughts.

NO! Absolutely not! Although, like the final comma in a series, it's something lots of people "feel" justified in doing these days 'cause even style guides (mistakenly) say so.SPIKE NESMITH! wrote:And anyway, shouldn't your question mark be outside the quotation marks? =P

Loosely, that's the "modern" argument...so you're not alone in that.SPIKE NESMITH! wrote:I thought that the question mark inside the quotations would place it as the person being quoted asking the question rather than the author of the sentence as a whole.
