World To End: Fox News Likes "Sicko".

This is a good place to drop general and weird news, entertainment, and general show prep material that might be interesting to air talent or producers. Hot dog threads ALWAYS welcome.

World To End: Fox News Likes "Sicko".

Filmmaker Michael Moore's brilliant and uplifting new documentary, "Sicko," deals with the failings of the U.S. healthcare system, both real and perceived. But this time around, the controversial documentarian seems to be letting the subject matter do the talking, and in the process shows a new maturity.
So sayeth His Royal Highness King Spike; greatest broadcasting talent of his generation.

Just went to re-read the CNN article on it, for some choice quotes... only to find the libs seem to be a little angry with Mr. Moore.

What used to be a rousing endorsement of Gitmo's medical service has been changed to:
  • Moore says the criticism of the Cuba trip is misplaced. He said he intended to take the workers to Guantanamo Bay, the U.S. naval base on the island where terror suspects are held -- and, the film claims, receive top-notch medical care.
That's new. I can't wait to see the "terrorists are our friends" spin machine try and work this one, after polishing their Michael Moore hard-ons over F9/11.

This looks to be old school Moore, ala TV Nation. He didn't care how you voted, he cared if the little guy was getting the dick. And while I'm totally ag'in socialized medicine, I'm actually looking forward to this movie.

(Although... Britain doesn't seem to have a socialized medicine program that's as good as France's. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/6660665.stm )

That's the Michael Moore I liked. The TV Nation/Awful Truth stuff was always better than the movies.
