This is a photograph taken of a weld on a 1500 ft tower. Nice.

Also, who manufactured the tower?
Stainless does not do work like that.
Nor Klein, or any responsable fabricator.

This is the tower for WUPX Morehead/Lexington, owned by AT. It was erected by Central Tower. This tower has had various problems in the past. It collapsed while under construction with about 500 feet stacked. They basically started over again. Needless to say, there may have been a rush order.

As I understand it, there are several other examples of this kind of shoddy work on this tower. The above pic was taken at about the 60 foot mark.

If I am not mistaken, Paxon bought a lot of Rohn towers.
This was about the time Rohn was having financial problems.

This was clearly a "no one cares" problem. No 'normal' person associated with towers would have let this kind of thing get by. I would think this tower would be condemned until inspection and no insurer would touch it until their inspector checked it out. :!:

Speaking of towers; is Pi-Rod still in business? I bought the XCC 430 ft tower from them in 78'.
