If it's about broadcasting, radio, TV, satellite, cable, this is where to talk about it.

WBOY Promo on You Tube

It's a promo for WBOY-TV 12 Clarksburg from the 80s.

The person who posted this says it's the worst promo in television history and I have to agree with him or her. It's pretty cheesy.

Big hair, spandex, and leg warmers.

Horrible choreography.

No sense of timing or rhythm.

A pointless theme.

What were they thinking?

Dance routines look like they came out of a cheerleader or majorette routine book. Kinda like to see what the dance babes look like now.

Multiple childbirth stretch marks.

Leather skin from Tanning Beds Gone Wild.

At least one of them had Gastric Bypass Surgery.

Both probably still dress and wear their hair the same way they did in high school.

It's a West Virginia thing.

weren't most NBC stations doing image crap like this in the late 80's.
Maybe not with dancers, but similar music.

Which 'BOY staffer ended up in the home-made porno?

More importantly, were either of those girls in it? :-)

My god that's really bad. And that is an understatement. Was that the best scenery they could come up with? A coal mine, a coal camp, in front of some bulldozers... good heavens. What the hell did the dancers have to do with the station's image?

Someone lost a bet. That has to explain it.

Probably wanted to show some common scenes around Clarksburg.
Seems attractive compared to what you might have gotten from Weirton or Wheeling.

Tha actually was from 1988. I recall watching it when it was fresh, and thinking it was perfect for a parody on our radio show. I think we ran it for several days until I got a call from my buddy Mike Simons. He told me he liked ours better, but could we Puh-leeze stop airing it for a while....

That was better than the promo I was in for WBOY later on in which Mike and I had popcorn dumped on our heads repeatedly. There was also a Christmas promo where we were all supposedly having a Holiday dinner. Only trouble was, you could see the furniture store window in the background....

Wow, that's bad. The jingle sounds familiar, but I don't remember the dancing part at all.
