High School Football

Post by Brian G. »

We did our first game tonight and it got me thinking. Who carries what teams across the state? It can be fun to hear other games while on road trips. In Parkersburg:

AM 1230 WVNT - Parkersburg Catholic

100.1 WDMX - Parkersburg High

107.1 WNUS - Parkersburg South

AM 910 WLTP - Williamstown

WVOW does Logan (of course). On Logan's open week (like next week) we do either Chapmanville or Man. Once our county teams are out of the playoffs we focus on Scott, Gilbert, Tug Valley, Burch, Williamson, Matewan or one of the regional teams.

We're doing two games of the week simultaneously.

The lead game is, of course, on 580 WCHS, and this week's game other game is on 680, WKAZ-AM. They are both being streamed, and are linked to from www.58wchs.com

Which station in this area tried to do two games by broadcasting one game on the left channel and one on the right?

Football, at least Logan High football, isn't a big deal here. This is recruiting season for our basketball team, when we raid other schools, states and as we did a few years ago, other countries for basketball players.

Same in my era, the 1960's.
Some of ours were on a version of work release.
